Early Years World

ICT for young children is not just about computers: used with or without adult support, computer adventures offer opportunities for active learning, creating and thinking critically.

Aimed at children aged from 2 - 6 years, Early Years World contains 56 mini-adventures and over 200 activities divided into age ranges and levels of difficulty. Activities get progressively more skilful whilst ensuring the child's continued confidence as their IT skills are being nurtured.

  • Being involved and concentrating
  • Maintaining focus on their activity for a period of time
  • Showing high levels of fascination
  • Paying attention to details
  • Persisting with an activity when changes occur
  • Bouncing back after difficulties
  • Showing satisfaction when meeting goals
  • Having their own ideas
  • Choosing ways to do things

Importantly, children are able to choose themes and characters themselves, making each mini-adventure personal to them, providing the stimulation, fun and interest to express themself in a different way.

Children may

  • talk to the characters
  • attempt to link sounds and themes
  • count, add and subtract
  • initiate or join in 'role play' using the characters and themes

Early Years World includes an option to produce printed evidence sheets to show children's progress for their individual journeys - ideal for children to take home and show parents.

To encourage children to play and learn away from the computer you can also produce 'GoDo' sheets to compliment the Early Years World mini-adventures

Early Years World now includes E-Safety activities designed specifically for Early Years children
